An Informal Summary of our Bylaws
The Henniker Democratic Committee is the local organization for registered Democrats in the town of Henniker. Its main goal is to support Democratic values, help elect Democratic candidates at all levels of government, and ensure local participation in a fair and effective democratic process.

The Committee manages party affairs in town, works with other Democratic groups, recruits and fills ballot positions, appoints election inspectors, and keeps an accurate list of registered voters.

Every registered Democrat in Henniker is automatically a member. The Committee is led by an Executive Committee: a Chair, Co-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer, all elected for two-year terms. These officers organize meetings, manage funds, keep records, oversee elections, and guide party activities.

Meetings follow a set order (reports, old business, new business, and announcements). The by-laws can be changed if written proposals are submitted and approved by a two-thirds vote at a following meeting. Every two years, the Chair appoints a committee to review them.

If anything isn’t covered in the by-laws, Robert’s Rules of Order are used to guide meetings.
