Henniker Democratic Committee Plan 2025 (Revised in June of 2025)
In preparing this plan, we first looked at 2026 and what outcomes we hoped to achieve.
-
Add new members to the Committee
-
Elect democrats to state, local, and school positions
Those outcomes became the foundational work of identifying outcomes in the coming 10 months to bring us to January 1, 2026. We will create action steps for each objective .
Objectives
The Committee will be a source of clear information for town Democrats about national, state, and local issues through a newsletter.
-
The newsletter will provide information to our community on a monthly basis incorporating updates about national, state, and town issues. Committee members will contribute monthly to the newsletter to John who will then combine their input into a readable format for distribution. Additionally, John will send out alerts from the state office and other resources.
-
Members are asked to provide John with information of interest about the state and town; Tony will focus on state issues, and John will focus on national topics. The intent is to publish a monthly newsletter that will be sent to Bradford and Henniker residents in a format to be created by John and Elise.
-
We will fundraise to cover our committee expenses and to aid candidates in their respective campaigns.
-
Stephanie has suggested that we reach a goal of $2,500 by mid-2025 to support candidates and their campaigns. She will guide Committee members in ways to reach this goal.
-
We will create lists of state, local, school vacancies to anticipate the recruitment of prospective candidates.
-
Committee members will be attentive to such vacancies, bring them to the Committee’s attention, and assist in identifying potential candidates.
-
Rod noted that there will be 2 vacancies in the Town Select Committee in March of 2025.
-
We will create lists of upcoming town events and create the needed materials for them.
-
We will participate in the Henniker Handmade and Homegrown events as part of our fundraising and information sharing.
-
We will host one or more listening sessions that will allow town residents the opportunity to meet with our representatives and present their concerns for our action.
-
Committee members will be attentive to such events, bring them to the Committee’s attention, and assist in identifying the materials to be developed to ensure their timely availability.
-
We will discuss Visibility Events to highlight specific national or state issues.
-
We will create a website with the help of Rusty Gage.
-
We will continue to attract new Committee members and update our email roster.
-
Committee members will invite town residents to join the Committee or add to our email roster through their personal associations or at our events.
-
We will maintain a working relationship with New England College through Nate Schrader to empower students in exercising their voting rights. Joan will work with Nate on this goal .
